For this pattern you need:

This scarf takes one or two 50g balls depending on how long you want the scarf.
Metres/Yardage 115m/126yds (for short version) or 230m/252yds (for long version)
Tension: 21 stitches and 32 rows to 10cm/4ins square over pattern using 4mm needles.
Measurements: 9cm/3.5ins x approximately 90cm/35.25ins (for short version) or
9cm/3.5ins x approximately 185cm/72.75ins (for long version).
My design ideas and advice: This skinny scarf is perfect for any outfit and with the smallest size using just one ball of double knit yarn is great for using up any odd balls. I also love it because it is an exciting way to try out new yarns to see if you like knitting with them. Or, as I have done, for using one ball of beautiful silk or cashmere for a touch of luxury around your neck.
