For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: One 100g hank of WYS The Croft Shetland Tweed Aran. (100% Shetland Island Wool, 166m/182yds per 100g).
I used shade 760 Dalsetter.
My Yarn Suggestion & Amounts: I love the colourful look of the pink marl with this hat design however if you wanted a traditional hat I suggest trying WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran (100% British BlueFaced Leicester Wool, 166m/182yds per 100g).
Needles: 4.5mm and 5mm.
Notions: Cable needle.
Tension: 25 stitches and 26 rows to 10cm square over cable pattern when slightly stretched using 5mm needles.
Measurements: to fit average size head.
My design ideas and advice: I’ve named the cable on this hat heart because to me the cables look like intertwining upside down hearts. They are pouring all their love on to the hat wearer. I have a few cable designs that I prefer and this is one of them. I love the way the stitches seem to travel across the knitting and then join together like they are coming together for a kiss!
