MY DESIGN IDEAS & ADVICE
This jumper might look complicated, but is, in fact, super simple to knit! I’m so addicted to this pattern that I’ve used the technique in other designs too.
The magic is in the slip stitch (or mosaic) technique, which creates a striking colourwork effect while only ever using one shade per row. The classic shape makes it a perfect fit for everyone, and I love seeing the unique colour combinations knitters choose.
The best part? It’s all just knitting – garter stitch, two-row striping and only using one colour in a row. Many knitters don’t believe me at first when I say how simple it is until they try it for themselves! Sometimes things can seem really complicated or overwhelming and what I want my designs and patterns to do is bring simple soothing stitches into a knitter’s life.

This pattern is designed for pure knitting joy to bring a little calm to your day.

CONSTRUCTION
The back, front and two sleeves are knitted flat from the bottom up in seperate pieces and joined together. The neck edge is picked up and knitted.

TECHNIQUES USED
Cast on, knit, purl, decreasing at the armhole and neck shaping, increasing on the sleeves, slip stitch sometimes called mosaic colour work , cast off.

GAUGE (tension)
20 stitches and 38 rows to 10cm/4ins square over dotty garter stitch pattern.  I obtained this gauge with 5mm needles. It is important to obtain gauge so do swatch and change your needle size to achieve the correct gauge if you need to.

I recommend a positive ease of at least 3-6”/7-15cm at the chest/bust.
